Sabarimala temple latest news(2012)
During the forthcoming Mandalam-Makaravilakku festival,
SSADP(Sabarimala Sree Ayyappa Dharma Parishath) will open 100 pilgrim centres
across Kerala state. This SSADP in association with the Kerala Government and
Travancore Devaswom Board will provide annadanam, information centre and health
care for the pilgrims at places like Thiruvalla, Kottayam, Pampa, Pathanamthitta,
Guruvayoor, Erumely, Sabarimala, Kadappattor, Pandalam and Nilackal.
Located at a distance of 184 km from Trivandrum International Airport and about
214 km from Kochi International Airport, those who wish to visit Sabarimala
temple must appreciate the efforts made by SSADP. SSADP have called upon the
railways and road transport corporations of different states in India to provide
travel facilities for devotees visiting Sabarimala temple during the pilgrimage
season at a concessional rate of 50%. Kottayam and Chengannur railway stations
are the nearest railway stations to Sabarimala temple. In addition they would
work together with different Ayyappa temple committees located outside Kerala
state to extend certain facilities like transport services for the pilgrims to
Sabarimala. Another important feature is regarding the collection of parking
fee on vehicles that carry pilgrims from different places to Sabarimala. SSADP
has called upon the devasom boards including TDB not to charge any parking fees
in these vehicles at parking lots. The efforts made by SSADP cannot be limited
to few words. They are working very hard to provide all facilities to the pilgrims,
who visit Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple. Now get ready to visit the Ayyappa temple
during Mandalam Makaravilakku festival.
